Vampires, Mummies and the Holy Ghost, these are the things that terrify me the most. (Jimmy Buffet 1994)
Marty McCormick and Vicki Brown were the big winners at the RIWGA tournament last week! They pretty much swept all categories. To what, do they say, they owe the good golfing? Water Aerobics in the pool every Monday and Friday! They’re stronger. Exercise pays off! Just sayin’……
Is this the party to whom I am speaking? Thank you Lily. Thank yous to Norm Smith from River Island Dr who repaired the electrical panel and light sensor at West gate and to Michael Mahoney for keeping us bright with a supply of light bulbs. has been contracted to help with our association’s clerical and office needs so our BoD members will have some relief from the mountains of paper work needed each month. Seriously, it was starting to look pitiful. They’d sit around that big table at meetings, panting with their tongues hanging out, like dogs playing poker! Sad!
BTW, several delinquent dues payers have paid up in full after receiving our court summons for small claims. Yaaay!

Here’s some great news from River Island Country Club. Our man in Panama has confirmed a deal whereby members of RIE have permission to use the restaurant at RICC. Menus for special dinners will be posted on our bulletin boards. You will need to make a reservation or call for availability before you go. Bringing friends and family with you is fine as long as you are with them in the group. And you will need to pay with your very own $$$ at the time. I think this is marvy; let’s use it! We can repay this courtesy by showing up and using the restaurant. C’mon, Tightwads, let go of a nickel for once. Springville is fast becoming a mecca ‘where the elite meet to eat’, thank you J.A.
Not only can we use the RICC restaurant, The Springville Inn has re-opened, ghosts and all. We have been there twice and had fabulous meals both times. I have heard a few complaints about slow service. That was certainly not our experience and I think we should cut them some slack to work the bugs out. (Remember Applebees opening? OMG.) Springville Inn is a place we will want to patronize as well. Let’s keep them in business and muy muy happy to be here.
AND, here’s the scary part, the owners have experienced 3 ghost encounters already!!! Neat stories even if you ghost deniers hate the thought. Get a grip, expand your horizons and have some fun for once. Invite a ghost to dinner.
Next BoD meeting is scheduled for Aug 8, 2017, 32462 River Island Ln
