The next time I see a jogger smiling, I’ll consider it. (Joan Rivers)
Our Annual Meeting was very well attended on January 24th; a quorum was reached early in the afternoon. And even though there were a couple computer glitches, we had a Power Point presentation! Wow! Just call me Howdy Doody we are so progressive my head is spinning. Why does the computer work fine in practice then go lame when you actually need it?
Drain Bamage: Yes, we have no bananas today. Yes, there are drainage problems in the community and no bananas. The Common area problems will get repaired, and if you have personal drainage problems, (ok I didn’t mean that like it sounds) when the contractor is scheduled for the common areas, you may be able to piggy back your work at the same time so you can get a better price. Notification on the Bulletin Boards will occur when he’s ready to roll, or dig, or pile up, or something.
People from Tulare County and from Dollar General were our guests to answer questions and speak about their plans to build a store across the street (Hwy 190) from us. There are some folks who oppose the store altogether and some who are looking forward to it. One thing to keep in mind here is that our Association is a collection of neighbors with differing interests. The Association is not going to “fight City Hall” regarding this project. The Board of Directors, as a group cannot take a side because both sides exist among us. If a BoD member wants to speak up or sign a petition or make phone calls or attend meetings, they are welcome to do that, of course, but it would be as an individual, not as a Board member representing the community. The only group activities that develop will be those of your own making; don’t look to the Board for leadership there. It would be unethical. For those of you who want to learn more and provide input at the County level a Public Hearing will be held at the county offices February 24th at 9AM. Many people expressed an interest in attending so you might piggy back with some of your neighbors and carpool. Crawdaddy’s here we come! We’re sure doing a lot of piggy backing this month. I hope it’s not contagious. Mr. Michael Washam, Assistant Dir. of Economic Development and Planning, Tulare County welcomes your input thru letters or email – contact him at email@example.com or snail-mail him at: 5961 So. Mooney Blvd. Visalia, CA 93277-9394.
Del Oro plans to finish upgrades to remote operation of our pumps. Hooray! Smiley face…
A great meeting! The Board promised next year they will hold the Annual Meeting not during the Super Bowl or the playoffs weekends so you armchair quarterbacks can have it all. Smiley face on a football…
Many good ideas came out of the meeting, and only one volunteer. Next time the community isn’t providing you with what you think they should, look in the mirror first. Just sayin…..
Next BoD meeting Tues, Feb 9th @ 2:00. 32462 River Island Ln.
